Membership Information:
Misson: The purpose of the St. Cloud River Runners is to promote running, encourage improvement, recognize achievement, and sponsor club and community events.
History: The St. Cloud River Runners Club was organized in 1980 after its predecessors, The St. Cloud Harriers and then the Mississippi Striders, disbanded. We welcome everyone regardless of level and experience, and have members ranging from beginners to ultramarathoners, and everything in between.
Breakfast Runs: Members gather on Saturday mornings at various area restaurants for a group run and then stay to enjoy breakfast together. The Sunday morning run is typically at the same location, but is subject to change due to holiday closures, etc. The weekend runs are posted on Facebook and are on the scrr.org calendar.
Club Activities: The club sponsors the Lake Wobegon Trail Marathon as well as its own award winning USATF team. The club also has close ties with its sister club, St. Cloud DuTri. Many members have fun car-pooling together to area road races and traveling together to marathons around the country. We have an annual banquet and slide show to celebrate members and their trips, races and accomplishments over the year. If you run or have an interest in running, the club is a great way to meet new training partners, coaches and others with like interests.
Member benefits: You don’t have to be a member to join us for a run, however, as a member you will receive the following benefits: 20% discount at the ENDURUNCE Shop, and the opportunity to join our USATF race team. Members enjoy social activities such as the annual banquet, pop-up runs and other activities. Membership fees are also used to promote the club to the public, buy supplies, offset annual banquet costs, pay for insurance, and pay for the website.
