With
so many events coming up in the next couple weekends we wanted to
give you a quick update on some running and triathlon events coming
up soon.
Next
Saturday, June 14 there is an event we wanted to highlight; the Family
Fun Fest 5K in
Waite
Park
, which has more information listed below. Also, next weekend
there are a couple Tri’s. The Paynesville
Triathlon is June 15 at
Lake
Koronis
and gives you the option of doing a canoe/bike/run or the
traditional swim/bike/run along with just a 5K. Go to www.pickleevents.com

15 the second annual Fairmont Triathlon will be held. See
below for more information on that event.

Triathlon Series:
The series is into full swing with the fourth event to take place
next weekend at Liberty Triathlon.
There are still openings for the June 22, North
Mankato Triathlon and the July 13, Graniteman
Triathlon. Updates to the series points have been

Fun Fest 5K
The
Waite Park Family Fun Fest 5K Fun Run and Walk, is June 14,
2008. It starts at
Discovery
School
in
Waite
Park
and will proceed through beautiful
Quarry
Park
. There will also be a 1K junior fun run and walk on school
grounds at the conclusion of the 5K run.
Fairmont
Ronald
McDonald House Triathlon
Following
a successful comeback in 2007, the City of
Fairmont
will proudly host the 9th (non-consecutive) Fairmont
Triathlon. First held in 1983 the Fairmont Triathlon was one of
Minnesota
’s original multisport events. Located in Southern Minnesota,
Fairmont
offers a great venue with 5 lakes and wide country roads close to
the transition area. This event will take place at
Gomsrud
Park
on Father’s Day, Sunday, June
15, 2008. In keeping with the spirit of the day, the
event is designed to be family friendly. In addition to Sprint and
Olympic courses, there is a Mini Triathlon for youth (and the
uninitiated). The location includes two beaches, a swimming area,
playgrounds, picnic area and sand volleyball courts. The Sprint and
Olympic competitions include both relay (team) and individual
classes. Registration is limited to 400 participants. Register
